Northern Cities
Some of the main cities in the Northern part of the Costa Blanca are, Denia,, Benissa, and Altea. Denia has a panoramic view of sea and mountains and water-sports are very popular in this city so those who want fun in the sea will not be disappointed, other attractions include a toy museum and great shopping along the Calle de Marques de Campo, Denia has a very traditional feel about it and is a great place to mix with the Spanish locals in the tapas bars.
For a more peaceful city, Benissa boasts kilometres of quiet coastline with coves and small beaches which are only accessible by foot so it is possible to find a deserted part of the coastline to relax on. Benissa is very historical so there are many sightseeing opportunities, with a hospital which was built for the poor in 1790. Benissa is famous for the octopus it produces so a visit to one of the many restaurants serving this culinary delight is a must.
Altea has lots of sightseeing on offer with old buildings such as the Nuestra Senora del Consuelo chapel which is the cities landmark and with its distinctive blue dome it cannot be mistaken. The mountainous area which is just outside of this city has spectacular views of the city and right along the coastline and as with most other cities in the Costa Blanca there is plenty of sun and fun to be had on the beaches and in the city with great restaurants bars and shops. There is a fine selection of properties available in the city from apartments to villas which come in all shapes and sizes.
Southern Cities

Benidorm is a well known popular tourist destination where there are many historical sights and even more hotels, bars and restaurants along with 2 large theme parks, many, many British flock here each year for fun and sun. Benidorm is quite a commercial city and is busy and bustling with visitors most of the year round. The old town in Benidorm is somewhat quieter and offers more sightseeing with historical buildings and landmarks.
Villajoyosa is situated roughly 35km from Alicante and can provide a quieter alternative to the madness of Benidorm, the scenery here is very picturesque with its beautiful coloured houses in the town centre and the old town which sits on the shore of one of the many beaches. The city is famous for chocolate the main brand being Valor which is produced in Villajoyosa and sold all over Spain, you can literally smell the chocolate being made while in the city. When visiting a chocolate house the best way to sample this product is to have chocolate with churros!
The Costa Blanca is a beautiful part of Spain and very popular with tourists, and those who wish to purchase holiday homes and permanent homes. There is always something to see and do which is sure to please everyone.
